During the Cold War era military technology was often being used in the domestic environment. Designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen, the Futuro home reflects the space-age concerns of its time. Filmed in Berlin, Futuro 13 records a voyage made by this flying saucer house. As with all of Beddington’s work, the camera does not move and the shots are composed in such a way as to give a strange sense of watching and being watched as the surreal object floats in and out of the frame.
